Where is the Zoo des Sables d'Olonne located?
A Day Out at the Zoo des Sables d'Olonne
Located in Les Sables d’Olonne, the Zoo des Sables is passionately committed to biodiversity conservation, protecting both exotic animal species from far-off lands and local wildlife just steps away from your Vendée campsite. As an international coordinator for the breeding program of the Buffon’s macaw, the zoo supports several projects to safeguard endangered species, such as red pandas and gibbons. The Zoo des Sables also strives to minimize its environmental impact by actively preserving the region’s flora and fauna. To achieve this, the zoo has implemented “environmental management” practices within its operations. Its management adheres to an ecological charter aimed at protecting local species that are periodically documented. Eco-conservation is its ultimate goal: the zoo seeks to inspire visitors to reflect on biodiversity preservation and offers actionable solutions.
