The Vendée Globe in a Few Words

A solo, non-stop, unassisted round-the-world sailing race held every four years for the most seasoned sailors and skippers.
A legendary race created in 1989, starting and finishing in Les Sables-d’Olonne. A colossal course around Antarctica, featuring three formidable capes: Cape Horn, Cape of Good Hope, and Cape Leeuwin.
For these reasons, and many more, the Vendée Globe stands as one of the greatest sailing races in the world and one of the most popular sporting events in the Pays de la Loire region, which you can witness during your camping stay in Vendée.

This monohull round-the-world regatta is far from relaxing. Ocean weather conditions leave no time to lounge on a deck chair, requiring constant focus on navigation.
The fastest winner to date is a Frenchman, Armel Le Cléac’h, who crossed the finish line in just over 74 days in 2017.

While the participants compete solo offshore, why not try a similar adventure (non-competitively) aboard a large sailing yacht or trimaran?
