The Conches Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Vendée. It is especially renowned for being one of the finest surfing spots in the region. Additionally, along with Petit-Rocher, it is one of the two sites in Longeville-sur-Mer to be awarded the Blue Flag label, recognizing efforts in environmental management close to your campsite in Vendée.

Where is the Conches Beach located?

The Conches Beach is located in Longeville-sur-Mer, one of the most stunning seaside resorts in the Central-West of France. The town is situated near other renowned coastal destinations in Vendée, such as Talmont-Saint-Hilaire and Les Sables-d’Olonne, located 17.6 km and 38.4 km to the north, respectively.

The Beach of Les Conches

Les Conches Beach is the largest beach in the municipality of Longeville-sur-Mer. Located specifically in the village of the same name, it delights both locals and vacationers. People visit to stroll but especially to enjoy walks or engage in various water activities – swimming here is supervised in summer. The beach is surrounded by impressive dunes and features a section known for its authenticity and wild nature; this area is the farthest from the main access point to the beach. Additionally, several high-quality campsites are located near the beach, particularly to the north. The southern part of the beach, commonly known as Bud Bud Beach, also attracts numerous vacationers. This zone is particularly popular with surfers and board sports enthusiasts. Experienced surfers especially train here. For these athletes, Bud Bud Beach is comparable to the best spots in the region, such as those in Landes or Biarritz. To directly access this southern part of Les Conches Beach, you can take Bud Path, which is the quickest route but lacks parking spaces. Visitors traveling by car are advised to park at the lot near Access 13, which leads to the main section of the beach, and walk 600 meters southward.

Water Activities at Les Conches Beach

As mentioned earlier, Les Conches Beach is a paradise for surfers. More specifically, the southern zone, conveniently called Bud Bud Beach, is often compared to some of the best spots in France, particularly those on the Basque Coast. Many other water activities are practiced at Les Conches Beach, such as bodyboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, and skimboarding. Notably, two water sports schools operate on Les Conches Beach. One of them, Manusurf School, helps vacationers discover bodyboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, and especially surfing. Private lessons are also available for more experienced participants. The second school, Inside Surf School, specializes in bodyboarding and surfing. It offers various packages tailored to the needs of its clients, including private lessons or couple sessions. The school also provides "discovery" courses aimed at beginners in water sports. Advanced surfers and bodyboarders, on the other hand, can benefit from improvement programs. Outside of the main season, the school offers the "Inside The Road" experience, a mobile training program lasting three to five days, where participants move from spot to spot in search of the best waves.
