Restaurant in Talmont Saint Hilaire
Le Jardin du Paradis, our bar-restaurant, offers you a moment of relaxation and conviviality in our 4-star campsite in Vendée.
Vendée is a sanctuary for migratory birds and their breeding. It is also a protected area for all the aquatic animals that live and reproduce there.
Vendée is also a top fishing area, with the Bourgenay port near the campsite. Here, you can catch monkfish, turbot, hake, whiting, the "Sable" sole, red mullet, pollock, dogfish, mackerel, tuna, bass, and the famous sardine from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. Numerous crustaceans such as pink and gray shrimp, langoustines, spider crabs, and crabs (sleeping crabs, shore crabs…) and, of course, the divine blue lobster. Squids, cuttlefish, and calamari also thrive in the Vendée waters. These fresh and healthy regional products delight food lovers and fans of local delicacies, which you can enjoy in our restaurant in Talmont.
Taste the local specialties at the campsite's restaurant
The sardine, fished off the coast of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie in the early 17th century, now provides nearly 2,500 tons, sold by fish merchants and destined for canning factories. Soon, local fishermen specialized in long-term preservation.
The famous tins of sardines in oil, which earned the "Label Rouge" in the year 2000, mainly come from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, a charming seaside resort and the leading fishing port on the Atlantic coast for sardines.
The Baie de l’Aiguillon owes its reputation to mussels grown on bouchots (oak piles planted in the water). These bouchot parks are believed to be the oldest in the world, dating back to the 13th century. Small but plump, bouchot mussels have flesh of a beautiful yellow color, with a dark and rather hard shell. They have a strong flavor. The sole from Les Sables d'Olonne, also known as "la Sablaise", is a flat fish that lives off the Vendée coast. The Noirmoutier lobster is a reference product featured on the menus of fine restaurants in the region, and the Vendée oyster is also highly prized by enthusiasts.
